Bye 2014, Hello Hoist The Hangers

The season of decking the halls is done and dusted, and I’m declaring a new season – let’s hoist the hangers to start 2015! Stay tuned, people. All will be revealed shortly.

As well as the calendar ticking over to a new year, I find my mind ticking over too – I ponder what I’ve done, where I’ve been, the people I’ve met, the highs and lows, and then I contemplate the year ahead.

I don’t think I need to be a ‘better’ me, and I’m not a big resolver, but I think it’s good to at least give the days, weeks, and months of the year that was, and the year that is come, some of my head space. Do you do that too?

I really want to make 2015 a year that I’ll enjoy.

I want to paint.

I want to write.

I want to read.

I’m enjoying getting back into that space where the room I’m in fades away, and I am totally immersed in the world on the page.

I want stillness.

I want to appreciate nature more deliberately.

I want to work, and to enjoy that act of contributing to something.

I want to get out of the small amount of debt I’m carrying. That one’s dependant on the work thing.

I want to try new things – not skydiving, but something new.

I want to be a good friend.

I want to ENCOURAGE.

I want laughter, wonder, and wanderings.

I want to expand my repertoire in the kitchen – I’ve got plenty of inspiration thanks to some lovely Christmas gifts.

I want good news.

All that wanting really boils down to attitude and what I put into the world. I’m up for that.

I’m going to start the year with a positive act. It’s coming soon!

I think I can sum up my desires for 2015 in one word – creativity. And as you and I both know….

Courage!
Courage!

I’d love to hear what you are hoping for in 2015.

Are you a planner? A resolver? Or a go-with-the-flow kind of person?

Here’s to sleep-ins, summer rain and pondering what’s ahead.

Cheers,

Annette x

  1. I love that you write ‘I want…’ sentences, I do that too. I want to explore next year. I want to explore ‘stuff’, big stuff and small stuff, word stuff and creative stuff, ideas and cities…

I am a little bit of everything when it comes to the new year. I am a huge fan of reflecting on the year that was, appreciating the good, trying to improve the things I can and learning more about myself. The more I learn how to feel comfortable in my own skin the better I get at going-with-the-flow which I love.

The happiest of New Years to you Annette 🙂

    • That’s a great mindset – totally agree that the more you know yourself, the easier you’ll find it to walk through whatever comes. Great attitude!! Here’s to the STUFF!
